Recently, we supported Senversa, to retire ACCUs from our Leawah native forest regeneration project in south western Queensland to offset operating emissions for their 2025 calendar year under the Climate Active program*.
While every organisation’s carbon journey looks different, Senversa’s approach reflects a growing recognition that addressing climate change requires both engaging in direct emissions reduction activities by setting organisational emissions reduction targets and then investing in high-integrity carbon projects to address their residual emissions.
Located in the vast expanse of land surrounding Queensland’s Balonne River, Leawah is a Pastoral Partners Australia owned property. The property is home to a native forest from managed regrowth carbon project conducted on historically cleared land. The project enables the natural regeneration of native bushland to increase canopy cover and sequester carbon under the Australian Government’s ACCU Scheme.
The project also provides a range of co-benefits to local communities through ensuring resources and services to enable project operations are sourced locally. Alongside the carbon project, the property runs a productive grazing operation. Both the carbon project and grazing help to future-proof the land and generate better outcomes for all stakeholders.
For Senversa, choosing to support an Australian nature-based project aligned closely with the company’s environmental values and commitment to responsible climate action.
